This week is Eco-Week and we were very lucky to have two different workshops. In both workshops we worked with recycled materials to build different things.

Coding and Computational Thinking
We have been developing our computational thinking skills in school over the last few weeks. We have had great fun solving puzzles and coding microbit.
DEAR Time
We love getting outside to read when the sun is shining.
World Book Day
We all dressed up as our favourite book characters. We had great fun casting spells and disappearing into the worlds of our favourite stories.
Happy Pancake Tuesday
We enjoyed some yummy Pancakes today for Pancake Tuesday. We all went home with full tummys. We also wrote some brilliant acrostic poems about our pancakes.
Maths
We did our maths outside today, learning all about time.
Happy Valentines Day
We made beautiful valentines cards for our special people at home.
Internet Safety Day
It was internet safety day this week and we learned all of the rules of using the internet from our new friends.
Magnets
This week, we learned all about forces and what materials magnets can connect with. We also learned about how magnets can push other magnets away from eachother.
Spellings Games
We love playing games to help us learn our spellings. This race game is one of our favourites!!
Special Visit from Sister Anna
We had a special treat today. Sr. Anna came in and told us some wonderful stories about St Brigid's Day and taught us all how to make St Brigid's crosses out of rushes.
Grandparent's Day
This week we have been celebrating Catholics school week. Today we were celebrating Grandparents day. We made our own cards for them and we decorated Tea light holders for them.
Merry Christmas from all in 1st/2nd Class
Merry Christmas
We have had a wonderful time getting ready for Christmas in 1st/2nd class. We have made our own snowflakes and worked together as a team to build Santa's workshop.
Right before the break we had a Hot Chocolate party where we got to cuddle up with our fluffy blankets.

Procedural Writing
This week we have been learning about procedural writing- how to read it and how to write it. We were able to follow some cool recipes and make some yummy treats.
SANTA!!
We had an unexpected visitor today, who looked a bit familiar! He told us we had to have a dance party on the yard and have some fun.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
We are starting to feel a bit Christmasy here in 1st/2nd. Not only did we have our very own Christmas jumper competition but we also got to visit the amazing Killakee Christmas Tree farm. We learned a lot about the beautiful trees that they grow and we got to go on a fun scavenger hunt.
Science Week!
We absolutely love Science in 1st/2nd. We were very lucky this week to be given the opportunity to learn about different materials on a fantastic zoom. We also had a brilliant time designing and making our protective gear for eggs. Our favourite part was testing out our builds.

Happy Halloween!
We had a spooky day today scaring all of the teachers with our fantastic costumes. Have a wonderful and safe midterm!
Maths Week
This week was Maths week and we all love maths in our class. We had a lot of fun on Maths trails and completing our shape art. We played maths games on our interactive whiteboard.
Experiments!!!
We love conducting experiments in 1st/2nd. This week, we learned about how water is absorbed into plants.
Jersey Day
We had a great day representing all of our favourite teams and raising money for charity.
Space Week
Happy Space week! We are having a fantastic time learning all about the planets in our solar system and the history of space travel. We cannot wait to make our rockets take off later in the week
First Holy Communion and Reconciliation
Congratulations to our 10 second class who made their first holy communion and first confessions this week. We are all extremely proud of you!
