Girls Football Quarter Final-New Jerseys
The Girls Football team played their quarter final fixture in the Corn Tadgh Ó Cionnaith cup today, Wednesday 2nd October 2019, against Gaelscoil na Camóige, wearing the school's new GAA jerseys. Unfortunately the team suffered a narrow 3 points loss, with a scoreline of 5-4 to 5-1. It was a very exciting game which could have gone either way. Well done to the girls on what was a very good run in the competition, with two great wins in their group, which saw them finish top and earn this quarter final fixture.
The Boy's Gaelic Football team finished off a thoroughly enjoyable September of football last Thursday with a narrow loss against St. Kilian's SNS. Unfortunately the team have not made it through to the knockout stage of the competition on this occasion. They did, however, put in some very strong performances and were very entertaining to watch in their three games this month. Well done boys!!
Congratulations to the Girls Gaelic Football team who started the year with a very impressive victory in their first game of the league campaign, against St. Dominic's NS. Well done girls!!
Cumann na mBunscol-Camogie 2019
After many weeks of hard work but thoroughly enjoyable training sessions since the start of the year, the team got their Cumann na mbunscol campaign underway at the end of March. Our first game was an eagerly anticipated home fixture against Our lady of Mercy Convent Booterstown. Edmondstown took an early lead and maintained a high level of performance throughout the game to record an impressive first win and kicked off their run in the Corn Fintan Walsh cup in the best possible way.
Our second fixture in the competition was an away tie with St. Raphaela’s, Stillorgan. St. Raphaela’s started the match the much stronger side but despite their early dominance, only held a narrow lead going into half time. Edmondstown came out in the second half with a point to prove and looked a determined and hungry team. Having come from behind, Edmondstown got themselves in front and held a 2 point lead going into the final moments. Despite late pressure from St. Raphaela’s, the team showed a lot of grit and worked hard to hold on to secure their second win in as many matches. This established a strong position for the team in their group going into the remaining fixture.
Our final group match was a home fixture in Frank Kelly Park against Our Lady of the wayside, Kilternan. Edmondstown battled hard throughout the game but unfortunately suffered their first defeat in the competition.
Well done to all the girls on their incredible hard work and success so far in the competition. We now look forward to the draw and seeing what lies ahead for the team after the Easter holidays.

Cumann na mBunscol-Football 2018
Our Girls and Boys football teams have had a very busy start to the year playing in their respective Cumann na mBunscol competitions. The school is participating in the competition for the first time in a number of years and both teams thoroughly enjoyed the experience during September and October.
The Boys team played Dalkey Project school, Newtown Avenue, Sandyford and finished their run in the competition with a narrow loss to Glencullen.

The Girls team got off to a great start in Spetember with a narrow 2 point win against Scoil Damien. They followed this win another win against Scoil Úna before narrowly losing out to Dalkey Project School in what was an absolute thriller in Frank Kelly park. Despite this loss, the girls team had done enough to advance to the quarter final of the competition where they played St. Mary’s National School. This was a real game of two halves. St. Mary’s dominated the first half and built up a 5 point lead at half-time. In the second half, Edmondstown fought back and created chance after chance, eating into the lead St. Mary’s had created. The game went down to the final few kicks of the ball and unfortunately, Edmondstown lost out in the end by just 2 points. It was a fantastic effort from the girls who can be very proud of their run in the competition.
