Emergency school closures have meant that we are doing lots of science at home now. Check out Discover Primary Science & Maths for lots of ideas:

Space Week 2019
The children had lots of fun working out the scale of different planets. We used different fruits to represent each planet. First and Second class made fantastic rocket models whilst learning 3D shapes (see their cool video under the Maths tab). Third and Fourth class made up their own mnemonics to help them remember the order of the planets and their distance from the sun. They also learned a great song "Rocket man". Junior Infants cut out and coloured in fantastic rockets and even learned a poem about Humpty Dumpty going to the moon! Fifth and sixth imagined their own planets and created and named them during art class.
SCIENCE WEEK 2019
We had great fun during Science Week. Lots of experiments took place. The children from 1st to 4th attended "Scientific Dilemmas of Dippy the Dinosaur" in Ballyroan library on 26th November 2019. They were amazed by all they learned.
