"Bloom in the Park" : 1st June 2018
Third and Fourth class had a wonderful time at "Bloom" on Friday, 1st June. We learned all about sheep, pigs and cattle. We saw some amazing gardens - our favourite was the "upside down garden". We loved the garden that Goal created and we even met our friend Mura who had given us our "Drought and Migration" workshop. Ms Brocklebank and Linda were blindfolded and had pegs on their noses. They had to guess what they were eating - their tongues were confused! The parachute game was a lot of fun.
International Biodiversity Day 22/05/18
Mark Nolan from the Heritage Council visited our class today for International Biodiversity Day. We had great fun learning all about the importance of bees and then we even went on a bee catching walk. We studied the bees through the view finder. We are looking forward to helping plant lavender bushes which will create a pollination corridor for the bees. Meanwhile, we planted sunflower seeds in homemade flower pots using recycled newspaper.
SCIENCE FAIR: 25TH APRIL 2018
We have been working really hard all year trying to win the SFI STEM award once again. As well as doing lots of interesting lessons in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, we also had to host a Science Fair. It was great to show off our work to our parents and other pupils. Check out more photos of the event by clicking Science Showcase.
We had great fun doing our Mexican Projects.

Two engineers from Jacobs visited Edmondstown today and gave a really interesting workshop to 3rd, 4th,5th and 6th. The children were challenged to make aesthetic, strong, media masts from marshmallows and toothpicks. The biggest hurdle to overcome was the temptation to eat the materials!!!

Wow, what amazing artists we have in Edmondstown. Lucy, Leo and Brannagh have made wonderful 3D representations of the school garden.

In fact, the children learned all about the Super Powers that Engineers have - great strength (building bridges), Laser power (computer signals) and Xray eyesight (infra red) etc.
On Friday, 23rd February we had great fun at our Mexican Party. The children made wonderful sombreros and tried out some Mexican food.

After a lot of hard work, our books are completed and we will send them off today, 8th February 2018. We can't wait to get back our stock of books from another school. We will be excited to read their stories.
HOMEMADE BIRD FEEDERS & BIRD BOXES
Third and Fourth class have been learning so much about Biodiversity. We wanted to try to increase the bird life to our school garden. We have made some lovely bird feeders and even a beautiful bird box made from recycled wood and a pencil for the bird stand!
SAFER INTERNET DAY
On Tuesday, 6th February 2018, we celebrated Safer Internet Day with special lessons on staying safe on social media. Our parents got special leaflets with some good tips. We got super wrist bands to help us realise how important it is to keep safe online.
We had great fun making some beautiful Grandparents' Day art and preparing interview questions for our visitors. We were so excited that our Grandparents were visiting on their special day.
Ms Brocklebank's class have been working hard on the theme of Biodiversity. They realise that we are all interdependent on each other. We must live in harmony with the animals and birds of the world and preserve our environment. We've got the world in our hands! They have created some lovely animal pictures.
