Dear Parents,

Every day I will read one chapter of the book Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter.  I hope the children enjoy listening and that it doesn't drive you mad!  Pollyanna is a little girl who manages to find joy and a reason to be glad in even the most desperate of circumstances - a gift we could all do with in these challenging times!

It's hard to believe we have read 32 chapters of Pollyanna.  I hope you all enjoyed the story and hopefully when we get back to school we will watch the film together.

The new story is: Under the Hawthorn Tree by Marita Conlon-McKenna.  This story is set during famine times in Ireland and it illustrates the great courage of three little children who manage to conquer sad times with love and loyalty.

We are finished our second book!  I will read some poems now for the children and hopefully they might be motivated to write some of their own or perhaps to illustrate these ones.

For the last few days of term, I will read some short stories for the little ones - enjoy!
