ACTIVE SCHOOL WEEK

Active School Week Challenge 2021

Picture

We are so excited to take part in Active School week from Monday 26th April-Friday 30th April. The Active committee have been working so hard preparing the school for the week ahead!

The theme for Active school week is to energise your day in three ways. We are going to help you to do this by giving not just one but TWO challenges daily. The teachers and staff in Edmondstown have come together to make some really fun challenges for you all to try at home. In addition, the STAR challenges from last year's Active week has returned. Check out this page on the website daily for some amazing challenges that have been set for you all.

Below you can track your challenges at home by using the worksheet provided by the Active Flag.

We are also so excited to have some great coaches in throughout the week for you. It will be great to see you all being so active in school and trying many different sports such as Rugby, Basketball, Yoga, Cricket and many many more.

Have a very ACTIVE week!!!! :)

Active Home Week Challenge 2020

Picture
From Monday 27th April, we will be taking part in Active School Week. Although we were looking forward to doing lots of fun things in school, due to the current school closures, we will go ahead with the Active Home Week Challenge. Every day, we will upload fun exercises and different challenges that you can do at home. However, there is more! Each day there will be a 'Star Challenge'. Every day, a different Irish Sportsperson has sent a message and a challenge for Edmondstown National School students exclusively! Make sure you check this page every day to see who is challenging you!
To take part in this challenge, we need at least 50% of the school to engage in an hour/60 minutes of physical activity each day. That could be 15 minutes of stretching in the morning, throwing and catching a ball for 15 minutes, 15 minutes of skipping after lunch and a 15 minute walk in the evening. It would be fantastic for you all to record what you do and send it to us at edmondstownns@hotmail.com   with "ACTIVE SCHOOLS" and your class level in the subject bar. We cannot wait to see how you get on!
